Bio
Red Sun formed in late summer of 1997 from the remains
of the recently defunct bands The Fuse and Snoit.
After spending the Fall writing songs they played
their first show on December 5th at Sparks. The first
half of 1998 was spent playing shows in Louisville
and out of town building up their fanbase. They released
a self titled 5 song EP on November 1st, 1999 at a
show with Seaside Panel and Metroschifter. It was
well received and aided the band in booking more out
of town dates including a tour in Summer 1999 of scattered
dates across the eastern half of the United States.
Much of the band’s time throughout the end of
1999 and into 2000 was spent writing and recording
demos of new material intended for a 7” record
(tentatively titled “Action”) and a full
length record. Neither of these releases saw the light
of day as internal pressures caused the band to split
in June of 2000. Red Sun played it’s last show
on June 23rd at Highland Baptist Church in Louisville.
Red Sun regrouped for a reunion show on March 15th,
2002 to celebrate the release of “Wired”,
a CD collection of their album and 7” inch demos,
as well as “Live in the Southend” which
was a 9 song recording of their set from the 2000
March/Southend show at Shockers.
