Bio
Itch House’s roots can be traced back to a joke
band formed by Carrie Neumayer and AL
while the two were in high school in the late 1990s.
Neither had much experience playing music, but they
worked together to help each other learn to write
songs. As they progressed, the band became less of
a joke and more of a serious project, so the search
began for musicians to fill out their ranks. Amelia
asked her friend, Evan Bailey, to play drums for the
band even though he had little experience as a drummer.
He did however have access to his brother’s
drum kit and quickly accepted their offer. Itch House
came together as they found a bass player in Aubree
Bernier-Clarke and were given their name by their
friend Drew Wilson. Eventually Aubree was replaced
on bass by Kelly Scullin. The band played a series
of shows over the Summer of 1997 and recorded four
songs over two days at Falk Recording Studio. These
songs were released in the Fall as a seven inch record
on Noise Pollution. Itch House disbanded in the Fall
of 1997 after several members of the band left Louisville
for college.
