Bio
The Fuse came together in the Fall of 1996 after two
years of searching for the right lineup. After their
lineup was finalized, they worked up a set of material
at their practice space off of New Cut Road and prepared
to play out. The Fuse fell in with a loose knit community
of bands from Louisville’s South End and played
their first show with some of these bands on February
7th, 1997. The Fuse would share the stage with their
South End compatriots often over their short career,
but would also make efforts to break into the more
established scene in the East End of town. They recorded
a cover of Minor Threat’s “Guilty of Being
White” on a four track for a free tape given
away at a show on May 23rd. The band also went into
Mom’s recording studio in July to record their
song “Whispers” that was supposed to appear
on a compilation. Those plans were scuttled when The
Fuse broke up in August 1997 after parting company
with frontman Leland Thurman.
